2009 E3 is almost here!

May 22nd, 2009

With all the economic turmoil seen world-wide over the past year, it is no wonder that the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo is pulling out all the stops. Gone is last year’s attempt at a more subdued industry-insider only show. 2009 promises all the spectacle and pomp and circumstance the gaming world longs for.

New logo, new site, new attitude!

May 21st, 2009

The GhostRiderTGAC is back after almost 2 years of being offline. It is an exciting time and I am so happy to be back online. The main goal of the all new GhostRidersZone.com is to provide a wide array of video game coverage and to expand beyond the XBOX and XBOX 360 stories that have been my focus in the past. The thought is that the new GhostRider’s Zone needs to be positioned to cover all aspects of gaming and the gaming lifestyle. What do I mean by “gaming lifestyle” you ask? I am referring to anything that might interest a gamer like myself, whether it be the latest console or PC game or maybe a Sci-Fi TV show or movie garnering buzz. The GhostRider’s Zone is going to be a hip place to find stories about all sorts of cool things. Don’t worry, the main focus of the site will remain squarely on gaming, but don’t be surprise when the discussion expands to other off-beat topics.

Doom and friends get the Flashy treatment!

May 19th, 2009

Doom Triple PackOk, be honest, do you spend your lunch reading everyone elses profile status on Facebook? Well I have something much more rewarding for you. The folks at Silvergames.com have brought the classic ID games of Doom 1, Heretic and Hexen together in one awesome super-pack. It is all wrapped up together in a nice little Adobe Flash package so it is playable via most internet browsers and best of all it’s FREE. It doesn’t have multi-player support so no lunch-time-LAN brawls but it is still a great little diversion and you can be sure your stress level will be much lower after a few minutes of classic monster killing mayhem and I guaruntee you will have a lot more fun that lurking Facebook!

Rock your PSP in a whole new way!

May 18th, 2009

Rock Band Unplugged - screenshot1Today Hamonix and MTV Games announced the full set list for their forthcoming version of Rock Band for the Sony Playstation Portable. With the popularity of the rythm genre and with competitor Activison publishing Guitar Hero On Tour last year for the Nintendo DS, it is great to see that this year the PSP will be getting some love in the form of Rock Band. I have seen some screen shots as well as video of Unplugged and it looks really interesting. Unlike Guitar Hero On Tour which incorporates a special controller add-on, Unplugged will perportadly use only the native PSP buttons to allow the player to control each of the traditional band instruments as well as the vocals. The visuals look great and the ability to switch instruments on the fly makes for some flexible game play, but I am not yet sold on playing without the plastic guitar or drums.
